The Opera, this sublime relationship of music, text, symbols, bodies, light, elements that represent different perspectives of the same gaze. It is this kind of dramaturgy of the gaze that i try to find trough these different areas of work:

POPULARIZING: UNCONVENTIONAL.
LABORATORY SPACES: MORE BODILY, MULTISENSORY AND INNER INVESTIGATION METHODOLOGIES.
EDUCATIONAL: KNOWLEDGE AND INVOLVEMENT IN THE ARTISTIC PROCESS.

A work on the Grammar of Gesture

Actor training on body language

A course of study* that tends to the lyricism of the body, i.e., the musicality of gesture, so that an awareness of “a body that sings along with the voice,” of an operatic body, is achieved.
A multidisciplinary preparation** on bodily presence that offers the opera singer (as also an actor) body management techniques capable of improving one’s stage presence.
A process of organicity of movement that predisposes the work then specifically on character study***

*Methodology: Decròux, Grotowski, Feldenkrais, Barba, Monetta, Commedia dell’Arte.
**Holistic disciplines used: Breathing applied to psycho-physical meditation; Bioenergetics.
***Study of repertoire/character: Reading of musical score “tonality; texture; tempo; alterations…” associated with emotionality, intentionality, text, body.

Opera Stories

Name

launched from 2019, on the occasion of the 150th Rossini, the educational didactic intent is aimed at an education to Opera through guided knowledge of the artistic process, of “how” it is created, such aspect in fact is capable of stimulating the curiosity of the students for those formative and creative dynamics that lead to being artists, this restores their enthusiasm and a strong participatory interest. A course of encounters designed using the different creative disciplines through a mode of interrelation, as occurs in Opera:

  • in conservatory, to attend guided lectures;
  • in empty theater,to discover the dynamics of stagecraft, acoustics and perspective;
  • in cultural places in the area,as realities with which to network;
  • open classroom lectures with parents, vision and interactive storytelling of the Opera;
  • theatrical pedagogy, music therapy, literature, in unique function with each other between “gesture, sound, word” for a work on multidisciplinary;
  • parallel work of different schools in a network, as a metaphor of “working together” as represented by the opera process in its “relationship” of different languages;
  • cross thematic manifestations with presences of various cultural and artistic relevant.

I think the question to ask a boy is not “do you understand” but “how do you feel.” The former focuses attention on the process of “what”, while the latter on that of “how”; this is where art works, on “processes”, between the knots of tenderness and the freedom of fragility.
